Brad Pitt’s Champagne
Fleur de Miraval Rosé Champagne will be the sparkling wine of the Oscars in 2022, taking the place of last year’s Piper-Heidsieck. Brad Pit and Angelina Jolie purchased the Provencal estate in 2014, and the winery’s rosé became instantly recognizable worldwide.
Although Brad Pitt can’t make Champagne in the area, he has partnered with the Péters family in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. The Champagne producers are more than happy to craft this exclusive brand for Brad Pitt, especially for the prestigious Academy Award ceremony. The sparkling wine saw the light in 2020, and it has been well received by Pitt’s fans and wine lovers alike.
The Champagne
Fleur de Miraval is Brad Pitt’s rosé Champagne, and it’s made with grapes from the prestigious Le Mesnil-Sur Oger region. It retails somewhere around 340 euros per bottle, and it’s more than a celebrity wine — the wine is good.
The Péters family is in charge of producing this wine with their own Grand Cru grapes. The wine is made with 75% Chardonnay and 25% Pinot Noir. The winemaking process is not dissimilar to the one used to make Miraval’s rosé in Provence – they use the saignée method to make it.
This fizzy rosé spends three years on lees, and only 20,000 bottles hit the market every year. What started as a secret project is now one of the most coveted pink Champagnes, and that’s saying something!
